Qualifications and Experience:

Current, active Michigan Special Education Teacher license (verification required) Experience working with high school students, preferably in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) program settings Strong classroom management and individualized instruction skills Ability to develop and implement IEPs tailored to student needs Positive attitude, compassion, and commitment to inclusive education Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with colleagues, families, and support staff

Responsibilities:

Teach and support high school-age students in ASD-designated classrooms Develop, adapt, and deliver individualized lesson plans and instructional strategies Maintain accurate, detailed records and documentation, including IEPs and assessments Create a safe, structured, and welcoming learning environment for all students Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—educators, therapists, and administrators—to ensure student success Provide regular communication with families regarding student progress and needs Participate in professional development and training as required by the district
