Job Overview We are seeking a Moderate/Severe Special Education Teacher to support a self-contained elementary classroom in Dearborn, MI for the 2026-2027 school year . This is an on-site elementary school position with Elementary caseload. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting students with moderate to extensive support needs and be comfortable providing individualized instruction, implementing IEP goals, managing classroom behavior, and collaborating with school-based professionals.

Immediate need Responsibilities Develop and deliver individualized instruction based on each student's IEP goals and educational needs Implement and monitor IEPs while maintaining appropriate documentation and progress updates Provide individualized academic, developmental, and behavioral support Manage the self-contained classroom and maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment Implement appropriate classroom management and behavioral support strategies Modify instructional materials and teaching methods based on individual student needs Monitor student progress and communicate concerns and accomplishments with the appropriate school team Collaborate with administrators, related-service providers, parents/guardians, and other educational professionals Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student planning and progress discussions Support students in developing academic, communication, social, behavioral, and functional skills Requirements Valid Michigan Special Education teaching credential appropriate for Moderate/Severe or Extensive Support Needs (ESN) Experience working with students with moderate to extensive support needs preferred Experience in a self-contained special education classroom is strongly preferred Strong classroom management and behavioral support skills Ability to develop and implement individualized instruction aligned with IEP goals Strong communication and collaboration skills Ability to work effectively with students, families, teachers, administrators, and related-service providers Why Join PDTX?
