Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Take on a rewarding full-time contract role focused on empowering students with emotional impairments. In this position, you'll work closely with a dedicated group of up to 12 students, sharing 4 with nearby high schools. Classroom size is kept intentionally small—never more than 8 students at a time, depending on daily attendance—allowing for meaningful, individualized instruction. You will also have para support in the classroom to help ensure students' success. Your expertise as a Special Education Teacher will be essential in fostering a positive and supportive learning environment. This opportunity requires you to bring compassion, adaptability, and a strong understanding of the unique needs of students with emotional impairments. You'll be working where your skills make a real difference every day, and you can feel secure knowing that no physically aggressive students are part of the caseload.

Qualifications:

Current certification as a Special Education Teacher with Emotional Impairment endorsement Previous classroom or caseload experience working with students facing emotional challenges Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families Ability to adapt lessons and behavioral supports to meet diverse individual needs
