Job Description
Position Summary The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Michigan State University invites applications for a part-time, fixed-term Teaching Specialist to support undergraduate instruction during the Fall semester. This appointment is expected to teach one undergraduate course section during the Fall semester. The appointment is for one semester and is intended to address instructional needs within the department. While additional course assignments may be available based on departmental needs, this position is not expected to transition into a full-time appointment. The successful candidate will contribute to the department's instructional mission by delivering engaging undergraduate coursework, supporting laboratory instruction as appropriate, collaborating with graduate teaching assistants, and assisting with the development or enhancement of laboratory exercises when needed. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to student success, effective communication, and excellence in engineering education. Required Degree Masters -Mechanical Engineering or closely related field Minimum Requirements Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline by the time of appointment. Demonstrated ability to effectively teach undergraduate mechanical engineering courses. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and graduate teaching assistants.
