Job Description

Summary Beagle Middle School is seeking a dedicated and passionate educator to join our team as an ASD Teacher. This full-time position is designed for an individual who is committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of ASD, utilize evidence-based practices, and collaborate effectively with staff, families, and the community to promote the academic and social growth of students. Responsibilities Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of each student with ASD. Create a positive and structured classroom environment that encourages student engagement and learning. Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and resources to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities. Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to students, families, and staff. Collaborate with special education staff, general education teachers, and related service providers to ensure comprehensive support for students. Facilitate social skills training and promote peer interaction to enhance social development. Maintain accurate records of student performance and behavior, ensuring compliance with all educational regulations. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education and ASD. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, fostering strong relationships to support student success. Contribute to a positive school culture by participating in school events, committees, and professional learning communities. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Psychology, or a related field; Master's degree preferred. Valid teaching certification in Special Education or equivalent credentials. Experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder in an educational setting. Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation, as well as knowledge of relevant laws and regulations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, families, and colleagues. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying informed about current research and practices in special education. Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with students with special needs.
