Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make an impact as a dedicated special educator guiding 3rd to 6th grade students for the upcoming school year! This full-time contract opportunity invites a compassionate Special Education Teacher with classroom experience to support a center-based caseload of around 10 students. You'll work in a collaborative environment focused on helping every child thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Your assignment will begin in late August and continue through early June, giving you the chance to build meaningful relationships and foster growth over the course of the entire school year.
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
Valid certification in Special Education, appropriate for teaching 3rd-6th grade students Previous experience working with elementary-aged students, especially within special education Familiarity with creating, implementing, and monitoring IEPs Commitment to inclusive and differentiated instruction Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with staff, families, and related service providers Organizational skills for managing a caseload of around 10 students in a center-based program
Responsibilities:
Provide direct instruction and adapt curriculum for special education students in grades 3-6 Develop and update Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with team members and families Monitor, assess, and document student progress toward individualized goals Partner with general education teachers and assistants for seamless instructional support Foster a positive, supportive learning environment addressing both academic and social-emotional needs Maintain consistent communication with parents regarding student achievement and areas of growth This is your chance to support a small group of students in a dynamic, supportive setting and play a vital role throughout the 2026-2027 school year.
