Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding role supporting 3rd to 6th grade students as a contract Special Education Teacher for the upcoming 26/27 school year. Located near Prudenville, MI, this full-time position begins in late August and runs through mid-June, offering you the opportunity to make a genuine impact in a center-based setting with a focused caseload of approximately 10 students. Your experience working with diverse learning needs allows you to foster positive educational outcomes and meaningful growth. You will enjoy consistent hours, collaborating closely with a team passionate about inclusive education.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Current Special Education Teacher certification for the state of Michigan Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Special Education or a related field Prior experience teaching 3rd through 6th grade preferred Demonstrated ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, students, and families
Responsibilities:
Provide specialized instruction and support to a small, center-based caseload (approximately 10 students) Develop, implement, and monitor students' IEPs and behavior plans Collect progress data and adjust teaching strategies as needed Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment Communicate regularly with families and supporting staff regarding student progress Participate in IEP meetings and ongoing professional growth activities If you are passionate about making a meaningful difference for students, this full-time contract position offers a fulfilling educational opportunity.
