Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Key Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Valid Special Education teaching certification Experience working with students with severe cognitive impairments preferred Knowledge of implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Strong classroom management and communication skills Ability to adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to meet unique student needs Passion for fostering growth, self-advocacy, and independence in students Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive classroom climate
Primary Responsibilities:
Design and deliver instruction tailored to students with severe cognitive impairments in a self-contained setting Develop, implement, and track progress on IEPs in collaboration with families and support staff Employ effective teaching strategies, materials, and technology to enhance learning Partner closely with families, paraprofessionals, and related service providers Create a safe, structured, and welcoming environment for all learners Document progress and maintain accurate records according to school and district policies Participate in ongoing professional development and team meetings
