Job Description
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A full-time, onsite opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher at the elementary level, working within a self-contained classroom setting. This role focuses on providing tailored educational support to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) through individualized education programs (IEPs) and evidence-based instructional practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement IEPs customized to each student's unique needs. Deliver differentiated instruction designed to support students with ASD. Create a structured classroom environment that addresses communication, behavioral, and sensory requirements. Utilize data collection and progress monitoring to guide instruction and interventions. Collaborate effectively with special education staff, general education teachers, therapists, and families. Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) alongside positive behavior supports. Facilitate development of students' communication, social, and life skills. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district regulations regarding special education.Required Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program. Approval as a School Social Worker in Michigan. Strong knowledge of Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), trauma-informed practices, and social-emotional learning. Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Authorization to work in the United States. Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
