Job Description

General Summary Coordinates the comprehensive academic advising and co-curricular support services program for eligible first generation, low-income students. Major Duties Establishes program goals and provides recommendations regarding problems and issues outside the bounds of defined procedures and practices. Provides comprehensive advising and co-curricular support services to eligible students, including but not limited to developing individual student development plans and facilitating sessions with students on academic probation. Resolves problems and determines appropriate actions. Monitors grades and student progress. Provides referral and direct service for students in need of academic support. Collects and analyzes data to lead projects of moderate scope and complexity to ensure quality student success services. Collaborates with University faculty and staff for student success. Maintains accurate records of services and ensures compliance to all policies and procedures of the University. Provides training and work direction to student mentors and tutors. Minimum Qualifications Master's degree in related field from an accredited institution. Three years' relevant experience. Experience working with low income, first-generation students and students with disabilities. Experience teaching and advising in higher education. Proven knowledge of assessment methods, college student development theory, mentoring theory and practice, and program development and evaluation. Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills. Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including evenings and weekends. Ability to travel. Desired Qualifications Experience working in K-12 educational settings or demonstrated familiarity with K-12 student development frameworks. Experience with teacher education or licensure preparation programs, including a strong understanding of the pathways and common challenges faced by students pursuing careers in education.
