Job Description

Seeking a passionate and dedicated special education professional to support a young learner in an engaging school setting. This contract opportunity offers the chance to make a positive impact by providing specialized instruction to a student with cognitive impairments, while utilizing an autism spectrum disorder-oriented approach. With a close-knit, multidisciplinary team in place, you'll help foster academic growth and emotional well-being in a nurturing, supportive environment.
Key Qualifications:
Active CI (Cognitive Impairment) teaching certification required Experience supporting students with autism spectrum disorder or related behavioral/mental health needs highly desirable Ability to collaborate effectively within a full team approach, including educators, support staff, and families Strong behavior management and individualized instruction skills Detail-oriented, flexible, and patient communicator
Core Responsibilities:
Provide tailored academic and behavioral support to one student, aged 8 or 9, on a daily basis Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) reflecting both cognitive and ASD-focused strategies Work closely with a team to monitor progress, adapt approaches, and coordinate necessary interventions Manage classroom behavior and promote positive mental health practices Document student growth and participate in regular team meetings Maintain a consistent onsite presence at the Ed Tech Center, adhering to scheduled hours of 7:30 AM - 2:45 PM Enjoy the rewards of helping a student thrive in a supportive environment, with a consistent daytime schedule and the backing of a well-resourced educational team.
