Must hold a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with a Special Educationendorsement in Cognitive Impairments (SA) or other special education area.Additional Endorsement Preferred:
ZG Elementary K-5 All Subjects (K-8 All Subjects in Self-Contained Classroom) Must meet the Highly Qualified standard under the ESSA OR be recommended for acertificate or endorsement, constituting full approval in a special education area by an institution of higher education signifying verification of completion of a teacher program, as approved by the State Board of Education.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
To effectively provide Specially Designed Instruction to students with an Individualized Education Plan To effectively communicate in writing and verbally with students, staff and families Must progress monitor all IEP goals and objectives according to the frequency written in the IEP and then report data to family members quarterly Complete service logs and accommodation logs for each caseload student Lead and write IEPs as well as MDRs that are compliant with all federal, state, and district guidance Collaborate with other special education teachers, general education teachers, ancillary staff members, and paraeducators to best support students in their LRE To be engaged while attending building and department meetings To be a learner of your content and other school related topics to benefit students Must sign Consent to BIll for Medicaid and complete Medicaid billing monthly Must be willing to attend Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training after school as certification expires. Other behavioral techniques may require training after school hours. Other duties assigned by the special education director or the building principal EDUCATION and/orEXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree or higher required.LANGUAGE, MATHEMATICAL AND REASONING SKILLS
Ability to speak and write effectively. Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations. Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral format and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.PHYSICAL DEMANDS
