Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Embark on a meaningful contract assignment as a Special Education Teacher focused on cognitive impairment support, working with a dedicated team to make a difference in the lives of students. This full-time, onsite position is located near Lake Orion, MI, with hours from 7:30 AM to 2:45 PM, Monday through Friday. In this role, you will work within a collaborative environment providing critical behavioral and mental health support. You will primarily support one student aged 8 or 9, leveraging a comprehensive, team-based approach to address behavioral, academic, and social-emotional needs. This opportunity extends through June 11, 2027, offering both stability and professional growth.

Qualifications:

Valid Special Education Teacher credentials required Current CI (Cognitive Impairment) certification is mandatory Experience or strong interest in working in ASD-type roles Background in managing behavioral and mental health interventions preferred Ability to work effectively on a multidisciplinary team Commitment to supporting differentiated learning needs

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to cognitive and behavioral needs Collaborate closely with team members including therapists, counselors, and classroom staff Support and monitor academic, social, and behavioral progress of the assigned student Provide a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment Communicate regularly with caregivers and fellow educators regarding student goals and progress This contract offers the chance to make a profound impact on a student's educational journey while working alongside passionate professionals.
