Position Overview:
Soliant is seeking a compassionate, collaborative, and student-centered Middle School Special Education Teacher to support students with diverse learning needs in an inclusive middle school environment. The ideal candidate will provide specialized instruction, develop individualized education programs (IEPs), and work closely with families, classroom teachers, and support staff to ensure every student has the opportunity to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) aligned with student goals and state standards Provide direct instruction in academic, behavioral, social, and functional skills Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet varying student needs Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusion and differentiated instruction Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation and compliance records Conduct assessments and participate in eligibility and IEP meetings Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and multidisciplinary teams Implement positive behavior supports and classroom management strategies Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district special education regulations Participate in professional development opportunities and school initiatives
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field required Valid state teaching certification/licensure in Special Education Middle school teaching certification preferred Knowledge of IEP development, differentiated instruction, and behavior intervention strategies Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills Experience working with middle school-aged students preferred

Ability to build strong relationships with students and families Commitment to inclusive education and student advocacy Experience with co-teaching and collaborative service models Familiarity with assistive technology and data-driven instruction Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude
