Job Description

A rewarding contract opportunity awaits for a Certified Elementary Cognitively Impaired (CI) Teacher with a passion for working with young learners in special education. This full-time position, located near Redford, MI, focuses on serving students in grades K-2 and is scheduled from late August 2026 through late June 2027. You'll play an essential role in supporting students' growth and educational journey within an onsite setting.
Qualifications:
Valid Special Education License with either CI or ASD endorsement Certification in CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) or a willingness to obtain and renew certification annually Experience as a Special Education Teacher, preferably with elementary-level students Strong commitment to student-centered learning and individualized educational plans Excellent communication skills, collaborative spirit, and adaptability
Responsibilities:
Deliver specialized instruction to K-2 students with cognitive impairments, adapting material as needed to maximize learning opportunities Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's abilities and requirements Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom environment to encourage academic, emotional, and social development Collaborate closely with general education teachers, therapists, families, and paraprofessionals Maintain accurate records, assessments, and documentation in compliance with state and federal guidelines Participate in ongoing professional development and CPI training as required This position offers the chance to make a real difference in the lives of young students, utilizing your expertise and compassion in a collaborative educational environment.
