Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a real difference in the lives of students as a Special Education Teacher during the upcoming 2026-2027 school year! This full-time contract position begins in late August and runs through early June, providing a consistent and rewarding opportunity to work with a dedicated team and a supportive community. As a valued educator, you will support a center-based caseload of approximately 10 students in 3rd to 6th grade, helping them thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Enjoy the structure of a 35-hour work week, a manageable classroom size, and ample opportunities to collaborate with fellow professionals.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Valid certification as a Special Education Teacher required Experience with elementary-aged students in grades 3-6 preferred Strong understanding of IEPs, progress monitoring, and differentiated instruction Ability to foster a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment Excellent written and verbal communication skills Collaborative mindset for working with school staff and families
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct instruction and intervention tailored to student needs in a center-based setting Develop and implement IEPs, monitor progress, and adjust instructional plans as needed Utilize specialized strategies and accommodations to support learning Foster an engaging, supportive, and motivating classroom experience Communicate regularly with parents, caregivers, and multidisciplinary team members Participate in meetings, professional development, and school activities as appropriate You'll experience the fulfillment that comes from supporting students' growth every day, while enjoying the stability of a predictable school schedule.
