Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Position Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to support elementary students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) for the 2026-2027 school year. The ideal candidate will provide individualized instruction, implement behavior supports, and create a structured learning environment that promotes academic, social, and emotional growth. Essential Responsibilities Provide specialized instruction for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Collaborate with classroom teachers, service providers, and families Utilize evidence-based instructional and behavioral strategies Maintain accurate student records and progress monitoring documentation Support students' social, emotional, behavioral, and academic development Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment Respond appropriately and professionally to challenging behaviors and conflict situations Requirements Bachelor's degree with endorsement in Autism Spectrum Disorder or another area of special education, with willingness to enroll in coursework to obtain ASD endorsement Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate Demonstrated ability to handle aggressive behavior, both physically and emotionally Demonstrated ability to manage and resolve conflict productively Preferred Qualifications Previous experience working with elementary-aged students with ASD Strong communication and collaboration skills Experience implementing behavior intervention strategies and supports Position Details Full-time position for the 2026-2027 school year Elementary special education setting Collaborative and student-centered work environment Special Education Teacher - Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
