A Special Education Teacher teaches students who have disabilities, and adapts teaching methods to meet the needs of students. Assesses students and helps to develop individualized education plans that specify the services and accommodations needed for each student. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.
Special Education Teacher- Stanton MI area Under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, the Special Education Teacher provides specialized instruction and support to K-12 students with diverse learning needs. This role works collaboratively with educators, families, and support staff to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs), provide academic support, and help students achieve their educational goals. What We're Looking For We are specifically seeking candidates with Special Education certification . However, we are also open to considering candidates who are currently enrolled in a Special Education certification program and have strong experience writing, implementing, and managing IEPs . Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferred Valid state teaching certification required Special Education certification/endorsement preferred (LBS1 a plus) Strong IEP writing and implementation experience Minimum one year of teaching experience preferred Current CPR certification, health clearance, and TB screening (if required) Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements Must be at least 18 years old Commitment to professional standards and collaboration Compensation Starting at $60/hour for qualified candidates Additional compensation may be available based on experience and qualifications Why Choose Amergis?
