Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding opportunity as a Special Education Teacher supporting elementary students in a self-contained classroom setting. This full-time contract position, available immediately and extending through June 2027, allows you to make a significant, positive impact in the lives of young learners. In this role, you'll collaborate with a dedicated team of professionals to develop individualized education plans (IEPs), foster inclusive learning, and guide students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) toward achieving both academic and social milestones. Your expertise will transform challenges into achievements and help every child discover their unique strengths.

Desired Qualifications:

Valid Michigan ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) Teaching Certification Prior experience working in special education, especially within elementary grades Knowledge of best practices for self-contained classrooms Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to build rapport with students, families, and colleagues Commitment to advocating for and supporting students with diverse learning needs
