TCEA Master Agreement General Summary:
The Special Education Content Leader will support with providing professional development, compliance tasks, and department meetings at their respective grade/building level. The Content Leaders will report to the Executive Director of Special Education.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop understanding and knowledge of the State/Federal laws related to special education and be able to communicate those standards to stakeholders. Communicate and create district curricular/instructional initiatives to stakeholders. Outline, implement and lead district professional development in special education for teachers across the district outside and/or inside of the school day Analyze data for the district and site buildings involving district leaders. Assist with compliance tasks related to MDE guidance. Examine and recommend assessments, curriculum, and course/unit adjustments for the district. Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Minimum of five years of successful teaching and leadership experience Is a respected teacher leader Team player and advocate for continuous improvement Ability to problem-solve and envision future state Demonstrate a willingness to listen and learn Strong and effective facilitation skills
