Job Description
Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract This opportunity is for an Elementary Special Education Teacher position located in Clinton Township, MI, with a contract extending through June 11, 2026. The role involves working full-time, up to 40 hours per week, within self-contained classrooms serving up to 15 students. Two paraprofessionals will support the teacher in managing classroom responsibilities, which include behavior management and assistance with toileting.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver specialized instruction tailored to elementary students with diverse learning needs. Manage and implement behavior support strategies effectively within the self-contained classroom. Collaborate closely with support staff to provide a safe and supportive educational environment. Monitor student progress and adjust instructional approaches as needed. Communicate regularly with families and school staff to support student development.Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Education required; Master's or Doctorate in Special Education is preferred. Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with a Special Education endorsement is mandatory. A valid Special Education license (no substitute licenses accepted) is a strict requirement. Previous experience working with diverse student populations is highly preferred.Location:
