This contract position offers the chance to work closely with students, families, and staff to support individualized learning goals and foster academic, social, and emotional growth. As a Special Education Teacher, you'll collaborate with a dedicated team to develop and deliver tailored instruction, monitor progress, and promote student success in accordance with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). Your expertise in adapting curriculum and providing differentiated support will help shape a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Special Education Teaching certification (state requirements apply) Previous classroom experience supporting students with disabilities Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and compliance Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to manage diverse learning needs and maintain an engaging classroom Knowledge of evidence-based instructional strategies and behavioral supports
Primary Responsibilities:
Develop and implement lesson plans that align with IEP goals and state standards Assess student progress, adapt instruction, and provide regular feedback Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student-centered planning Working in this role offers the satisfaction of empowering students to achieve their fullest potential, while building professional skills in a supportive setting.
