Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students at the elementary level as a Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year. Located near Anoka, MN, you'll play a vital part in a school community dedicated to fostering growth and success for every child. This position has a .4 FTE schedule, with partial-day hours onsite 5 days a week, ideal for educators in search of a balanced, consistent routine. While experience with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is especially valued, educators with any Special Education teaching license are invited to apply.
Desired Skills and Experience:
Valid Special Education Teacher licensure (open to other relevant credentials) Prior experience in an elementary classroom setting, particularly with students with ASD, preferred Knowledge of IEP development and implementation Ability to collaborate with general education staff, support teams, and families Exceptional communication, adaptability, and problem-solving skills
Key Responsibilities:
Provide specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs, focusing on those with ASD Develop, conduct, and monitor IEPs in accordance with state and federal regulations Attend meetings, contribute to multidisciplinary teams, and communicate with families about student progress Foster an inclusive and positive environment that supports individual student growth Uphold the educational goals and core values of the school community This contract role is for the 2026-2027 school year, from September 1 through June 4. With onsite teaching just a partial day each weekday, this position offers the chance to contribute significantly while maintaining work-life balance.
