Assesses students and helps to develop individualized education plans that specify the services and accommodations needed for each student. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

As a K-12 school-based Special Education Teacher in Brooklyn Park, MN your days will include Develop and deliver individualized instruction based on IEP goals. Adapt curriculum materials and teaching strategies to meet student needs. Manage classroom behavior using positive behavioral supports and interventions. Collaborate with related service providers, general education teachers, and families. Participate in IEP meetings, progress monitoring, and parent conferences. Maintain compliance with IDEA, state, and district regulations regarding special education.

Job Details Position:

Contract (option to renew) in a school setting

Hours:

Full-time (Monday - Friday)

Caseload:

Elementary, Middle, and High School options Successful Candidates Possess A Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education (required) An active or pending state licensure, or the ability to obtain (required) Experience in a pediatric or school setting (preferred) The ability to work in the U.S. without a sponsor
