Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity shaping young minds as a Special Education Teacher for the upcoming school year. This role is ideal for passionate educators eager to support and empower a diverse group of students, while advancing their own professional growth.
There are two immediate openings:
one for Elementary and another focusing on Upper Elementary, with some Secondary exposure. Enjoy a dynamic environment where your creativity and commitment help students overcome challenges and achieve meaningful academic and personal milestones. You'll begin by engaging in staff development the week of August 24th and 31st, setting the foundation for a successful year. Classes commence on September 8th.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
Valid licensure or certification in Special Education Previous experience working with elementary and/or secondary students with special needs Strong skills in classroom management, lesson adaptation, and individualized instruction Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, working well with colleagues, students, and families Dedication to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and positive environment for all learners Flexibility to adapt strategies based on student needs and school goals
Major Responsibilities:
Deliver specialized instruction in alignment with student IEPs Modify curriculum to address varied learning styles and abilities Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff for seamless integration Monitor progress and maintain detailed, accurate documentation Lead or participate in IEP meetings, contributing expertise and actionable goals Engage in ongoing professional development during scheduled staff weeks This contract role offers a stimulating setting to broaden your experience while making a lasting difference.
