Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding role shaping the lives of students in an innovative special education model designed to support both early childhood and elementary-aged learners. This contract opportunity near Circle Pines, MN offers the chance to make a substantial impact within a collaborative, supportive district environment. We're seeking two onsite educators holding active Minnesota dual certifications in both Early Childhood Special Education and Elementary Special Education. You'll be working full-time (37.5 hours per week), starting September 2, 2026 through early June 2027.
Qualifications:
Valid Minnesota teaching license with Early Childhood Special Education and Elementary Special Education endorsements (EC SpEd and ES SpEd) Experience working with diverse learners across age groups, especially early childhood through elementary Strong communication and collaboration skills for engaging with students, families, and multidisciplinary staff Commitment to individualized instruction, inclusion, and advocating for students' unique needs Ability to design and implement effective IEPs and adapt curriculum appropriately
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct, individualized instruction and support to students identified in both early childhood and elementary special education programs Develop, monitor, and evaluate personalized education plans tailored to each student's strengths and needs Collaborate with families, general education colleagues, and related service providers Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with district and state requirements Adapt teaching strategies and materials to foster learners' academic, social, and emotional growth
