Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Empower students and make a meaningful difference as you guide learners with unique strengths in a special education environment. This contract opportunity begins August 31, 2026, and continues through June 4, 2027, offering a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week. You'll teach in a Setting 3 classroom designed to support students with Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), working closely with a focused group of 6 to 10 students within a single school building. Your expertise and compassion will provide vital support as you develop and deliver individualized education plans and foster an inclusive classroom environment. Ideal candidates thrive on collaboration, flexibility, and positive student outcomes.
Desired Qualifications:
Valid teaching license with either ASD or DCD endorsement (Tier 3 or 4 required) Demonstrated experience working with DCD and/or ASD populations Strong classroom management and behavior intervention skills Ability to communicate effectively with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams Passion for supporting diverse learning needs and providing equitable educational opportunities Commitment to implementing specialized instructional strategies and accommodations
Key Responsibilities:
