Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher supporting elementary students with cognitive impairments and/or significant autism. This contract position offers an opportunity to work with a dedicated school team, located near Hawley, MN, focused on providing individualized education and a nurturing environment. What you'll bring: Valid Special Education teaching certification (current and in good standing) Experience working with elementary-aged students, particularly those with cognitive impairments and/or significant autism In-depth understanding of IEP processes and ability to develop and implement individualized lesson plans Strong communication skills for effectively collaborating with staff, administrators, and families Patience, empathy, and flexibility in adapting instructional strategies to diverse learning needs Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive classroom environment Your core responsibilities: Design and adapt instructional materials tailored to meet each student's unique educational needs Develop and manage IEPs in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams Employ a variety of teaching techniques to maximize learning and engagement for students with different abilities Monitor student progress, collect data, and adjust interventions as needed Provide behavioral support and foster social-emotional growth Collaborate closely with paraprofessionals, therapists, and administrators to ensure coordinated care Enjoy the advantages of a contract role that allows you to focus on what you do best—empowering students to succeed.
