Roseville Area Middle School Description:
Roseville Area Schools has a vacancy for a Special Education Teacher at Roseville Area Middle School (RAMS). The licensed Special Education Teacher develops and provides specialized instruction aligned to the state standards to meet the unique needs of middle school students with disabilities.
Core Responsibilities:
IEP Management:
Functions as the IEP Manager for assigned students, evaluating and assessing progress against instructional objectives while strictly following state-mandated due process procedures.
Instructional Delivery:
Delivers specialized instruction centered in racial and cultural responsiveness, utilizing formative assessments to plan for and adapt to student learning needs.
Collaboration:
Collaborates closely with general education staff, including participation in co-teaching assignments to support students in the least restrictive environment.
Leadership & Coordination:
Schedules student services and paraprofessional support; provides direct supervision and guidance to paraprofessionals.
Communication:
Maintains regular, proactive communication with parents, guardians, and the broader instructional team.
Qualifications:
The candidate should possess strong instructional skills centered in cultural responsiveness and a demonstrated commitment to developing lessons for a diverse student body. Demonstrated interest and effectiveness in working with middle school students (grades 7-8). Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams. Commitment to an equitable education experience for all. Demonstrated understanding of cultural competence. A valid Minnesota Teaching License in Special Education is required. Middle school experience preferred.

Minimum full-year, full-time starting salary for this position is $53,085 (prorated based on FTE), plus a district contribution toward health and dental insurance.
