Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a real difference supporting students by joining a collaborative elementary learning environment focused on innovation and growth. This full-time contracted role offers an opportunity to guide students in an Emotional Behavior Disorder (EBD) center-based setting, helping them build both academic and social-emotional skills. With access to engaging STEM programs like Project Lead the Way Launch, you'll work alongside passionate educators in a specialty K-5 setting dedicated to student success.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Valid Minnesota Teaching Certification (Tier 3 or 4 required); please be prepared to provide a copy Proven experience or strong interest in Special Education, specifically working with Emotional Behavior Disorder (EBD) populations Expertise in adapting curriculum and supports for students with diverse needs Ability to collaborate effectively with related services staff, administrators, and families Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as lead teacher in the school's EBD center-based classroom, providing instruction tailored to individual student learning plans Implement evidence-based behavioral interventions and positive support strategies Develop lesson plans that meet IEP goals while promoting inclusion and engagement Monitor student progress, maintain detailed records, and participate in IEP meetings and team discussions Foster a classroom community that encourages personal growth, positive social interaction, and confidence Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and support staff As part of this team, you'll experience the rewards of working in a vibrant, supportive elementary school committed to engineering curiosity and student achievement.
