Special Education Teacher/Work Experience Coordinator for PAES Lab Robbinsdale Cooper High School Salary and benefits based on 2024-2025 Teacher Collective Bargaining Agreement Reports to the Director of Student ServicesRESPONSIBILITIES
Team with special education and vocational education staff to provide transition-level services to students with disabilities, ages 15 to 21 years of age. Provide instruction in areas related to Job Training and Employment in school-based and /or community-based setting. Provide necessary support and supervision in site-based work skills training program (PAES Lab) Participate in the evaluations of students with an emphasis on development of appropriate vocational goals, objectives and plans. Demonstrate knowledge regarding community-based vocational training programs ( e.g. Hennepin Technical College), and assist students in accessing those programs. Demonstrate knowledge of community agencies that provide vocational support to adults with disabilities. Demonstrate skills in working collaboratively with education- and community-based agencies in development and implementation of plans to address individual student's transition needs.
QUALIFICATIONS
License in one or more areas of Special Education required. Work Experience Handicapped (WEH) license preferred. Experience in secondary transition service preferred .APPLICATION PROCEDURE
