Desired Qualifications and Experience:
Valid teaching license in Special Education, appropriate for K-5 settings Previous experience in elementary special education classrooms strongly preferred Strong knowledge of individualized education program (IEP) development and compliance Collaborative mindset for working with teachers, staff, and families Effective communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities Passion for empowering students with diverse learning needs
Primary Responsibilities:
Serve as the lead special education teacher for K-5 students, ensuring high-quality instruction and support services Develop and implement tailored lesson plans accommodating various learning styles and needs Guide the IEP process, including assessments, goal-setting, meetings, and progress monitoring Partner with the building principal, general education teachers, and support staff to promote inclusion Mentor and support other special education staff, fostering best practices and continuous professional growth Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and policies Engage parents and guardians as active partners in their child's education This position offers the chance to influence students' lives in a meaningful way and collaborate within a committed school community.
