POSTING #: 3550 The Sauk Rapids-Rice Public School District No. 47 is seeking an experienced and innovative teacher to provide engaging instruction that develops students' digital literacy, technology skills, media awareness, and responsible online behavior. This position supports students in becoming effective digital citizens while teaching foundational technology skills, research strategies, communication tools, and creative problem-solving using a variety of digital platforms and devices. Primary Responsibilities:
Teach digital citizenship concepts including online safety, cyberbullying prevention, digital footprints, media balance, privacy, and responsible technology use. Instruct students in the effective use of Apple and Google platforms, applications, and tools. Teach keyboarding and foundational computer skills appropriate for middle school learners. Guide students in research skills including evaluating reliable sources, identifying misinformation, citing sources correctly, and practicing academic integrity. Integrate technology into cross-curricular learning experiences and collaborative projects. Teach students how to create digital presentations, documents, spreadsheets, videos, and multimedia projects. Support students in developing communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills using technology. Collaborate with classroom teachers to support curriculum integration and technology-enhanced instruction. Promote safe, respectful, and ethical use of technology and media resources. Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student learning needs and abilities. Monitor student progress and provide feedback on technology proficiency and digital literacy skills. Stay current with emerging educational technology tools, instructional practices, and digital learning trends.Outstanding candidates will have:
- Background in educational technology, media studies, library media, computer education, or related field preferred
- Experience using Apple devices and Google Workspace for Education tools
- Commitment to fostering creativity, curiosity, collaboration, and responsible technology use
- Ability to work with diverse middle school learners
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to build positive relationships and a desire to work collaboratively with students, parents/guardians, staff and administration
- Strong classroom management skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Knowledge of best practices, including use of technology resources, for middle school learners
- Experience in creating student-centered learning opportunities that address state standards and support students to become life-long learners
- Experience effectively using a variety of data sources to inform instruction
Required Qualifications:
- Valid Minnesota teaching license as a library media specialist or relevant experience and willingness to seek a Tier 1 or 2 license or Out of Field Placement from PELSB
- Bachelor's Degree in Education, Instructional Technology, or relevant subject area
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience using technology to augment student learning
- Experience using PBIS to augment student engagement
Contract:
1.0 FTE beginning the 2026-2027 school year.Salary and Benefits:
Salary based on the 2025-2027 Sauk Rapids-Rice Education Associations Master Agreement starting at $52,166 up to $97,326. Benefits based on full-time employment and may be pro-rated for part-time positions.Benefits may include the following:
