Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract An exciting opportunity awaits for an experienced Special Education Teacher to support a vibrant K-5th grade student community in a French Immersion program located near Blue Springs, MO. This contract position spans from August 11, 2026, to May 28, 2027, and will have you working onsite at one school location in the Kansas City area. While the school's curriculum is French immersion, proficiency in French is not required for this role. As a key educational partner, you will work closely with students requiring a mixed caseload of needs, providing personalized support, fostering a positive classroom atmosphere, and ensuring each learner's unique potential is realized.
Your qualifications should include:
Valid Special Education (SPED) certification Proven experience as a Special Education Teacher with diverse and mixed caseloads (K-5th grade preferred) Strong collaboration skills with educators, parents, and support staff Flexible approach to instructional strategies to meet a variety of learning needs Exceptional communication, organizational, and documentation abilities Your daily responsibilities will consist of: Delivering individualized and group instruction to students with special needs Developing, implementing, and assessing IEPs in accordance with district and state guidelines Adapting learning materials and interventions for a varied, mixed-level caseload Partnering with families and school teams to ensure student progress Maintaining accurate, timely records and progress reports Participating in ongoing professional development and faculty meetings In recognition of your experience, the hourly compensation will range from $40 to $45 depending on your background.
