Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. An opportunity is available for a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing to provide specialized instruction and support to students in a school setting located in Gulfport, MS. This contract position offers the chance to make a meaningful impact by enhancing students' communication skills and academic achievements.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized educational plans tailored to students who are deaf or hard of hearing. Utilize specialized teaching strategies and assistive technology to facilitate effective learning. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including speech therapists, audiologists, and classroom teachers. Monitor student progress and adjust instructional methods accordingly. Provide guidance and support to students, families, and school staff on deaf education and communication methods.
Desired Qualifications:
Certification or licensure relevant to teaching students who are deaf or hard of hearing. Experience working with school-aged children in similar settings. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Familiarity with federal and state regulations related to special education. Ability to adapt lessons to meet diverse learning needs.
