Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a difference in the lives of students by supporting their unique learning needs in a vibrant school setting near Mc Call Creek, MS. This full-time contract Special Education Teacher position offers the opportunity to engage deeply with a small caseload, fostering growth and achievement in both high school and elementary students. With dedicated classroom support and a manageable student-to-teacher ratio, you'll have the resources and time to provide individualized instruction.
Key Qualifications:
Valid EMD License required Experience in Special Education teaching preferred Comfortable working with diverse learners in high school or elementary settings Strong communication and collaboration skills Ability to develop and adapt Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Passion for making a meaningful impact in students' lives
Role Highlights:
Contracted full-time schedule (37.5 hours per week) Serve in either a high school classroom (12 students) or elementary classroom (6 students), with the elementary class supported by 2 additional assistants Deliver high-quality instruction to students with varying abilities Develop and monitor educational plans and track student progress Collaborate with classroom assistants, fellow teachers, and families to ensure continuity and consistency in learning Create a safe, positive, and supportive classroom environment Implement evidence-based strategies and interventions tailored to each student's needs Maintain thorough documentation in compliance with school and state requirements
