Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Embark on a rewarding assignment supporting students with diverse learning needs in a contract position for the upcoming school year. Your expertise as a Special Education Teacher will make a significant difference for both elementary and high school students in a collaborative, resource-rich environment. Work full-time, with a manageable caseload and support staff in place to help elevate student success.
Qualifications & Experience:
Valid EMD (Education for the Moderately Disabled) teaching license required Prior experience in a special education classroom setting, preferably at the high school or elementary level Proficiency in developing and modifying Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Excellent communication skills to coordinate with families, teachers, and specialists Ability to differentiate instruction and manage diverse needs within the classroom Strong classroom management and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging instruction to approximately 12 high school students or 6 elementary students, ensuring each child's unique learning goals are met Collaborate with two classroom assistants assigned to the elementary group to provide effective small group and one-on-one support Maintain accurate student records and progress documentation Foster an inclusive and positive classroom environment Work closely with general education staff and administrators to coordinate services and accommodations Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and staff training as needed Uphold compliance with all state and federal guidelines for special education Take pride in making an impact this new school year with a supportive team and the tools you need to succeed.
