Job Description:
Applicant will teach the curriculum as outlined by Glasgow School District #1A. Meet the diverse needs of students in the classroom by providing an appropriate learning environment. Provide quality instruction by using effective lesson plan development and strategies. Establish effective classroom management, safety procedures, and behavior expectations. Maintain effective professional relationships with students, parents and staff. Participate in school and district professional development activities. Attend building and district meetings as required. Support Special Education students by implementing IEP and 504 Plans. Perform other duties as assigned by the building administration.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Education and State of Montana Educator license with appropriate endorsements. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to implement standard based instruction and assessment. Skill in the use of technology to enhance instruction and communication. Ability to work as a contributing member of effective teaching teams. Ability to maintain effective professional relationships with staff, students and parents Ability to follow directions Skill, dedication and aptitude for working with students. Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with people with a variety of culturally diverse backgrounds. Ability to maintain student confidentiality. Ability to maintain regular and acceptable attendance levels. Added financial compensation __ •Applicant will be on an extended teaching contract that awards them an extra 5 days (40 hours) PAID to complete before and after school year SPED paperwork. •Special Education caseloads will try to be assigned so that each teacher has 20 or less. If a teacher's caseload exceeds 20 students for more than half of the days of a quarter, the special education teacher shall receive a stipend of $100 for each student over the standard. This stipend will not be considered as part of the individual teacher's annual salary.
