Job Description

Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract Make a difference in the lives of students by providing specialized education as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) for the upcoming 2026/2027 school year. This full-time, contract opportunity places you at the heart of educational support, guiding students with visual impairments to achieve their fullest potential. You'll work closely with students, families, and educational teams to create individualized learning experiences tailored to each child's unique needs.
Key Qualifications:
Valid certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) Orientation & Mobility (O&M) Endorsement is required Previous experience supporting students with visual impairments recommended Familiarity with adaptive technology and accessible curriculum design Strong collaboration skills and ability to communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and families Commitment to promoting independence and success for students with visual impairments
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver direct instruction to students with visual impairments in individual and group settings Conduct assessments and develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Consult with teachers, support staff, and families on best practices for accessibility and learning Provide orientation and mobility training to build students' confidence and independence Adapt instructional materials and methods to support student learning Monitor progress and revise strategies to maximize student achievement In this role, you'll have the satisfaction of seeing your efforts directly impact students' lives.
