Job Description

Behaviour Support Officer (Enhanced Teaching Assistant) Grade 5 £26,403
  • 28,598 (Pro Rata) Permanent, Full Time, Term Time plus 2 weeks Required to start as soon as possible, pending DBS clearance.
We are looking for a Behaviour Support Officer to work with our pastoral team in supporting the team leader to ensure the highest standards of behaviour, progress, achievement, and attendance with all our students both in school and as representatives of the school in the local community. Your role will include supervising students in our inclusion unit and working with them to reintegrate them back into lessons within the school. You will liaise with teaching staff to coordinate appropriate work and support students in completing it. This is a non-teaching role. Central to the success of our school is a team that works hard for the students and each other. We take a sensible approach to workload and consequently our staff are well motivated and enjoy coming to work. As our name implies, the school lies at the heart of its community. As a result of high expectations, enthusiastic teaching and very positive relationships, students enjoy school and want to do well. Belmont has a track record of excellent academic results, outstanding student welfare and great staff well being. We have fantastic facilities within our newly built school and offer an excellent induction programme with wider opportunities to develop and contribute to school life. Quite simply, Belmont is a great place to work! If you are considering this opportunity, we strongly advise getting in touch for an informal chat with the Headteacher as we have low staff turnover and jobs do not come up very often. Details are also available via the school website or alternatively contact Elaine Morgan (e.morgan@belmontschool.org.uk). Please note we do not accept CV's. Application forms can be downloaded and returned via email to e.morgan@belmontschool.org.uk or posted to the school address. Calculation of term time only plus two weeks' pay Term time only plus two additional weeks' pay is calculated on the basis of the following:
  • Number of 'teaching' weeks
  • 38 weeks; plus
  • Public (bank) holidays
  • 1.6 weeks (8 days); plus
  • Two additional weeks, inclusive of CPD
  • 2 weeks; plus
  • Individual leave entitlement
  • 5.
4 weeks (27 days) or 6.4 weeks (32 days) Individual leave entitlement is calculated on the length of continuous service. Employees with less than 5 years' service will receive 27 days annual leave. Employees with more than 5 years' service will receive 32 days annual leave.
For example:
Calculation for employees with less than 5 years' service: 40 weeks (term time plus 2) + 27 days (annual leave) + 8 days (public holidays) = 47 weeks' pay, to be paid in 12 equal monthly instalments Calculation for employees with more than 5 years' service: 40 weeks (term time plus 2) + 32 days (annual leave) + 8 days (public holidays) = 48 weeks' pay, to be paid in 12 equal monthly instalments We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and, if successful, you will need to apply for an enhanced DBS disclosure. As a disability confident employer, we are committed to employing disabled people and people with health conditions making reasonable adjustments to support disabled applicants when required.
