JOB REQUIREMENTS

Special Needs Children's Ministry Teacher Main Purpose A Special Needs Children's Ministry Teacher helps children with physical, cognitive, emotional, or developmental disabilities learn about faith and God's love in a safe, loving, inclusive, and supportive environment. Specific Responsibilities Teach lessons in ways that are adaptive to children with special needs. Ensure a safe, patient, sensory friendly and calm environment where every child feels valued and accepted. Communicate regularly with families to learn about child's preferences, specific triggers, and medical needs. Manage the child's behavior by using positive re-inforcement and other de-escalation techniques tailored to individual behavioral need Work cooperatively with other children's ministry teachers, volunteers, ministry leaders, and church staff. Report safety concerns to children's ministry leaders. Qualifications Genuine love and compassion for children with special needs. Prior experience with special needs children CPR certified (certification will be paid by Jubilee Christian Church). Nature of Work Hours of work are Sundays from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm. Extra 3hrs of remote preparation during the week. Work involves childcare services for different age groups. Pay Day is bi-weekly.
