A Special Education Teacher teaches students who have disabilities, and adapts teaching methods to meet the needs of students. Assesses students and helps to develop individualized education plans that specify the services and accommodations needed for each student. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.
Overview We are looking for a dedicated 3-year-old teacher, where your enthusiasm and expertise will inspire them to learn as they play. In this role, you will work with a co-teacher in creating a nurturing, engaging environment tailored to the developmental needs of three-year-olds, fostering their curiosity, social skills, and other developmental goals through play and the natural environment.

Responsibilities Assist lead teacher to Design and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that promote early childhood education, including literacy, math, gross motor skills, and social-emotional learning. Assist lead teacher to Develop engaging curriculum activities that support this age group, preschool experience, and early intervention strategies tailored to three-year-olds' developmental stages. Manage classroom behavior through positive behavior management techniques to create a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment. Utilize classroom management skills to organize daily routines, activities, and transitions smoothly while maintaining high standards of childcare and safety. Collaborate with colleagues and parents to monitor each child's progress Incorporate natural play principles and other educational philosophies to enhance individualized learning experiences. Support children's welfare by addressing their emotional needs, promoting social skills, and encouraging independence through structured play and learning activities. Skills Strong, caring communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, colleagues, and specialists in special education or early intervention programs. Ability to get along with co-workers, take guidance to learn your role, Apply positive language, patience, understanding, and be willing to learn how to guide children in a positive manner. We are a natural play program where we let children play outside in all types of weather and using natural materials indoors and outdoors. They learn through "their play" as we guide individuals at their pace and their developmental stages to reach their goals. These experiences provide each child to learn at their pace with hands-on materials.
QUALIFICATIONS
Have a high school diploma or GED Have a SS Card Have a drivers license/ legal Picture ID Must be at least 18 years old Must go through a background check, TB test & medical form filled out by physician. Must be willing to take future early childhood classes at a community college to gain knowledge of early childhood development and to obtain certifications. Must be physically able to lift over 20 lbs or more, be able to to move quickly to maintain safety for all children & and perform all job duties. Strong positive communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners. Ability to work physically active shifts involving lifting, bending, and sustained periods of standing or walking. Passion for working with children and dedication to fostering a supportive learning environment.
