Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Make a meaningful difference in the lives of students each day as a Special Education Teacher in a dynamic and supportive school environment. This full-time contract opportunity offers the chance to work with students with mild to moderate needs in a self-contained setting for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver personalized instruction to a caseload of approximately 12 students, fostering academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth. Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's specific needs and abilities. Create a structured, supportive, and positive classroom environment to promote learning, communication, and independence. Collaborate with fellow educators, therapists, and support staff to ensure holistic support and progress for each student. Maintain effective communication with families, keeping them informed and engaged in their child's education and development. Participate actively in team meetings and professional development sessions. Maintain all necessary documentation and comply with state, federal, and school policies regarding special education.
Qualifications:
Valid Special Education teaching credentials in the state. Experience working with middle school students in a special education, self-contained classroom setting is highly preferred. Strong understanding of IEP processes, classroom management strategies, and evidence-based instructional techniques for students with mild to moderate disabilities. Exceptional organizational and communication skills. Collaborative mindset and commitment to student success. This position offers a consistent Monday-Friday schedule, working 7:15am-3:15pm, and a rewarding, stable contract spanning the full academic year.
