Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher supporting middle school students with mild to moderate needs. This full-time position spans the 2026-2027 academic year, providing the chance to make a significant impact on students' lives within a supportive educational environment. Work alongside dedicated professionals in a structured schedule, building meaningful relationships and fostering student growth.
Key Qualifications:
Valid teaching license required with appropriate Special Education endorsement Experience working with middle school students in a self-contained setting strongly preferred Deep understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring Strong classroom management and communication skills Ability to adapt instruction to meet varying learning styles and needs Passion for advocating for students and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging instruction to a small caseload of approximately 12 students in a self-contained classroom Develop, implement, and update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Collect data and track progress on academic, behavioral, and social goals Partner with related service providers, parents, and team members to ensure student success Assist in the creation of a positive, inclusive, and structured learning environment Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and school policies Participate in ongoing professional development and training sessions Enjoy a predictable Monday through Friday schedule, from 7:15am to 3:15pm, with the satisfaction of serving a pivotal role in a student-centered program. This contract runs from August 13, 2026, through June 3, 2027, offering stability and meaningful challenges.
