This full-time role runs from August 13, 2026, to June 3, 2027, with a schedule of Monday through Friday, 7:15am to 3:15pm, totaling 37.5 hours weekly. You'll work closely with a small group of students with mild to moderate exceptional needs in self-contained classroom settings—providing impactful instruction and meaningful support.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Special Education teaching certification (or eligibility to obtain prior to the contract start date) Previous experience working in a self-contained special education classroom, preferably at the middle school level Strong knowledge of IEP development, progress monitoring, and compliance with federal/state special education requirements Skilled in differentiating instruction for a range of student abilities and needs Ability to foster a positive, respectful learning environment for students with diverse backgrounds and skill levels Excellent communication and collaboration skills with staff, families, and support professionals
Core Responsibilities:
Deliver direct classroom instruction to a caseload of approximately 12 students with mild to moderate exceptional needs Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in alignment with legal guidelines and student needs Work collaboratively with paraprofessionals and other staff in EC (Exceptional Children) and self-contained classrooms Maintain accurate student records and document progress toward IEP goals Engage with families to build supportive partnerships and promote student success Participate in professional development and school meetings as required This contract position offers a structured weekly schedule in a collaborative school environment, where your expertise will make a unique difference each day.
