Key Qualifications:
Valid Special Education teaching certification (North Carolina or eligibility for reciprocity) Experience in self-contained, non-severe middle school classrooms preferred Strong classroom management techniques Ability to differentiate instruction and develop individualized education plans (IEPs) Excellent communication and collaborative skills
Role Responsibilities:
Full-time (Monday-Friday, 7:15am 3:15pm; 37.5 hours/week) through June 4, 2027 Teach and manage a self-contained special education caseload at a local middle school Create and adapt lesson plans to meet IEP goals for each student Collaborate with general and special education teachers, support staff, and families Maintain thorough documentation of student progress and compliance with state and federal regulations
