An exciting full-time contract position is available for a dedicated professional with expertise as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI), equipped with the essential Orientation and Mobility (O&M) endorsement. This rewarding opportunity runs throughout the 2026/2027 school year and is ideally suited for individuals seeking to make a positive impact in an educational setting.
Key Qualifications:
Active certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) Orientation and Mobility (O&M) endorsement required Prior experience working with students with visual impairments preferred Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills Ability to design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs Adaptability and resourcefulness in a dynamic school environment
What You'll Do:
Provide comprehensive instructional support to students with visual impairments across various grade levels Conduct assessments to determine students' strengths and needs Develop and deliver personalized lessons using adaptive technology, Braille, and other accessible formats Collaborate closely with other special education staff, teachers, and family members Offer guidance in Orientation and Mobility to promote student independence within and beyond the classroom Participate in IEP meetings, progress monitoring, and documentation as required This contract role offers the potential for meaningful professional growth while making a direct impact on student achievement during the 2026/2027 academic year.
