Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Take on a rewarding contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher working with middle school students with mild to moderate needs in a supportive educational environment. This full-time position offers a consistent Monday through Friday schedule, from 7:15am to 3:15pm, ensuring you can plan your routine with ease and focus on delivering high-quality instruction to your students. You'll be responsible for a manageable caseload of 12, allowing you to provide individualized support and foster growth both academically and socially.
Qualifications & Experience:
Valid teaching certification in Special Education (credentials required for the state) Previous experience working with middle school students and delivering specialized instruction Familiarity with self-contained settings and individualized education plans (IEPs) Ability to adapt and modify curriculum materials to support diverse learners Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, staff, and families
Core Responsibilities:
Design and implement tailored lesson plans that address the unique learning needs of each student Maintain accurate student records, including progress toward IEP goals Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and paraprofessional staff Foster an inclusive, positive, and structured classroom environment Provide regular updates to parents and guardians regarding student achievements and needs Participate in team meetings, professional development activities, and required trainings This is a contract opportunity for the 2026-2027 school year, running from August 13, 2026, through June 3, 2027.
