Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity making a meaningful impact in the lives of young learners through special education. This full-time position focuses on supporting pre-kindergarten students with mild to moderate needs in a positive, inclusive school environment. The assignment extends from August 13, 2026, to June 3, 2027, providing a stable and fulfilling academic year schedule. Monday through Friday, you'll work from 7:15am to 3:15pm, collaborating with dedicated colleagues and engaging a caseload of 13 pre-K students. Ideal candidates possess a compassionate approach, robust classroom management skills, and a genuine commitment to exceptional education for every child. If you are driven by the desire to shape early academic and social development, this position offers the opportunity to do just that.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Valid Special Education teaching certification Experience with pre-K or early childhood special education (preferred) Proven ability to work effectively with students presenting mild to moderate disabilities Strong organizational, communication, and collaborative skills Must complete fingerprinting requirements for Pre-K placement
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored for each student Foster a nurturing classroom atmosphere that encourages growth and participation Collaborate with general education teachers, aides, and therapists to support student progress Communicate regularly with families regarding student milestones and needs Maintain compliance with all school policies and special education regulations
