An employee in this class provides direct instruction to students. A wide variety of tasks are performed in the teaching-learning process for students, the primary one being to help students learn the subject matter and skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible adults. A teacher performs his/her duties under the supervision of, and reports to, the principal.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Additional Duties may be assigned. Teaches District approved curriculum Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated Plans a program of study, employing a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and, in harmony with the goals, establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects and the like to communicate these objectives to students Assists in diagnosing the learning disabilities of students, with the assistance of district specialists Evaluates pupils' academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records and prepares progress reports Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations Is available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional dayQUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Provides career exploration opportunities for students to explore different career pathways while building on important 21st Century Skills such as critical thinking, communication and problem solving. The teacher acts as facilitator as the students rotate through a series of modules where students engage in authentic problem-based learning experiences as they discover their interests and aptitudes, along the pathway to high school career education programs and postsecondary success. The teacher's role also includes offering college and career exploration activities including assessments, guest speakers, career fairs, field trips, career clubs, hands-on activities, etc..COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals consistent with the duties of this position Ability to compose and write routine reports consistent with the duties of this position Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from administrators, staff and the general public consistent with the duties of this positionKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Language Skills- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Mathematical Skills
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Reasoning Ability
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Computer Skills
- Familiarity with basic computer operation and software. Ability to learn various computer operations required for management of student information and integration of technology in classroom instruction. Work Environment

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk and use fingers, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand and reach with hands and arms. Specific visual abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and depth perception. Occasionally the employee will lift up to 50 lbs. such as to lift files and paper.REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in related fieldExamples:
Architecture, Communications, Construction, Industrial Design, Engineering, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing, Transportation, Science, Industrial Arts, Trade and Industrial Education ("A" level License) Two years industry-related work experience within the past five yearsExamples:
